2021 Competition

The 2021 National Pediatric Resident Research Competition highlighted some of the best resident research from across the country, with three outstanding abstracts selected from each of the Western Canada, Ontario, and Quebec/Eastern Canada conference rounds. The breadth and quality of the research presented over the course of the week highlights the strength of our resident research, which in the future will translate to improved child health and care in Canada and beyond.

Congratulations to finalists Drs. Nicholas Conradi (University of Alberta) and Jean-Baptiste Roberge (Université de Montréal), and to the 2021 champion, Dr. Hailey Barootes (Western University), with her winning abstract “Reduced to my race once again”: Perceptions about underrepresented minority students admitted to medical school in North America. If you missed their excellent presentations, please check out the finals recording below.
